The previous Neta (half portion excluded), Darlung, Hawangdi, Arkhawang, Chhapahile, Arje, Dhamir and Martung VDCs were merged to form Malika Rural Municipality. Malika is divided into 8 wards, with Arkhawang declared the administrative center of the rural municipality.
